Item Drug Discovery and Development: From Targets and Molecules to Medicines(Springer Singapore, 2021-02-18T00:00:00) Poduri, RamaraoThis book describes the processes that are involved in the development of new drugs. The authors discuss the history, role of natural products and concept of receptor interactions with regard to the initial stages of drug discovery. In a single, highly readable volume, it outlines the basics of pharmacological screening, drug target identification, and genetics involved in early drug discovery. The final chapters introduce readers to stem therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacovigilance, and toxicological testing. Given its scope, the book will enable research scholars, professionals and young scientists to understand the key fundamentals of drug discovery, including stereochemistry, pharmacokinetics, clinical trials, statistics and toxicology. Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.Item Association of CYP2C19*2 and ALDH1A1*1/*2 variants with disease outcome in breast cancer patients: results of a global screening array.(Springer, 2018) Kalra, Sourav; Ludhiadch Abhilash; Shafi, Gowhar; Vashista, Rajesh; Kumar, Raj; Munshi, AnjanaCyclophosphamide and doxorubicin (adjuvant chemotherapy) are commonly used to treat breast cancer patients. Variation in the genes involved in pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of these drugs plays an important role in prediction of drug response and survival. The present study was carried out with an aim to evaluate the variation in all the genes involved in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics pathways of cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin, and correlate specific variants with disease outcome in breast cancer patients from the Malwa region of Punjab.
