Effect of oxygen vacancies, lattice distortions and secondary phase on the structural, optical, dielectric and ferroelectric properties in Cd-doped Bi2Ti2O7 nanoparticles
(Elsevier Ltd, 2021-04-27T00:00:00) Anu; Yadav, Kamlesh; Gaur, Anurag; Haldar, Krishna Kanta
(Bi1-xCdx)2Ti2O7 (x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.10 and 0.12) nanoparticles are synthesised using the co-precipitation method. The prepared samples show pyrochlore phase formation except for x = 0.02 and 0.08, where Bi4Ti3O12 appears as a secondary phase. The crystallite size and unit cell volume decrease while the strain and dislocation density increase with an increase in Cd-doping. The vibrational bands corresponding to Cd?O and C[dbnd]O are red-shifted, while the H[sbnd]O[sbnd]H bending band is blue-shifted with increasing Cd-doping. The band gap energy for x = 0.00 is found to be 1.78 eV. It increases with an increase in x up to 0.06 and then decreases with a further increase in x except for x = 0.02 and x = 0.08. The impedance data show non-Debye type relaxation. The pyrochlore phase is found to be non-ferroelectric. However, the samples with x = 0.02 and x = 0.08 having the secondary phase (Bi4Ti3O12) are ferroelectric. 2021 Elsevier Ltd

Transport Properties of Solid Polymer Nanocomposite Films for Energy Device Applications
    (NIT Srinagar, 2016) Sadiq, M.; Sharma, A. L.
Sample preparation of high quality new series polymer nanocomposite (PNC) films based on (PAN-PEO)-LiPF 6 +xwt. %DMMT has been prepared via solution cast technique. Keeping in view of applications of solid state PNC films, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is done for understanding of microscopic interaction among the different composite component present in the material system. The impedance and electrochemical analysis have been done to fulfill the objective of the materials for the energy storage/conversion device applications. Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) has been done to estimate the thermal stability of the prepared polymer nanocomposite films.

Structural and Dielectric Behaviour of Blend Polymer Electrolyte based on PEO-PAN + LiPF6
(The Research Publication, 2016) Arya, Anil; Sharma, Sweety; Sharma, A. L.; Kumar, Dinesh; Sadiq, Mohd.
Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) have recently gained more research interest in the area of materials science due to their wide application range in energy storage/conversion devices like batteries, supercapacitors, solar cells and sensors. A blend polymer electrolyte based on polyethyeleneoxide (PEO) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) doped with Lithium Hexaflurophosphate (LiPF6) has been prepared by solution casting technique using Dimethyalformamide (DMF) as a solvent. The complex formation has been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The decrease in intensity and broadness in peak revels the amorphous phase formation. The dielectric study of PS films has been done which gives the two order decrement in relaxation time (i.e. 10-4- 10-6) which is directly related to faster ion dynamics in polymer electrolytes. The analysis has shown the dielectric polarization at low frequencies. The dielectric peak has been observed to shift toward the higher frequency side with the addition of salt, suggesting the low sample viscosity and faster conduction of ions.
