The present study deals with the issues of the social division of different classes in society as upper and lower class on the economic bases. The division further leads to the dependency of lower classes on upper classes for basic needs which accounts for the subjugation of lower classes. The scenario of class struggle is different in the metro cities as depicted by Adiga in The White Tiger as compared to the agrarian society depicted in Ram Sarup Ankhi's Kankan da Katlaam. The comparative study deals with the similarities and differences in the portrayal of both the writers.en_US
