Item Supported-Pd catalyzed tandem approach for N-arylbenzamides synthesis(Elsevier B.V., 2021-11-21T00:00:00) Sheetal; Sharma, Ajay Kumar; Shaifali; Bhattacherjee, Dhananjay; Sharma, Navneet; Giri, Kousik; Das, PralayAryl iodides as dual arylating agent for C-terminal from oxalic acid [(CO2H)2] and N-terminal from sodium azide (NaN3) for N-aryl benzamides (Ar-CO-NH-Ar) synthesis is a rare invention which has been attempted successfully under this study. A single step tandem approach for the synthesis of N-aryl benzamides has been developed through bifunctional transformation of aryl iodides with in-situ CO from (CO2H)2 and NaN3 following two different pathways of carbonylation and azidation. The polystyrene supported palladium (Pd@PS) catalyst was found to be well compatible to perform the domino-reaction in a double layer vial (DLV) system under base, ligand and additive-free conditions. Moreover, the same approach was further extended with aryl azides for unsymmetric N-aryl benzamides (Ar-CO-NH-Ar') synthesis. Furthermore, the DFT studies were also performed to support the proposed mechanism. 2021Item Invitro anti-mutagenic potential of potentilla fulgens: A western himalayan plant(Informatics Publishing Limited, 2014) Monga, P.; Kaur, R.; Jaitak, VikasInvitro anti-mutagenic potential of different extracts/fractions of Potentilla fulgens has been made by an Ames histidine reversion assay using TA98 and TA100 tester strains of Salmonella typhimurium against the direct-acting mutagens, 4-Nitro-O-phenylenediamine (NPD) and Sodium azide. P. fulgens has been used in traditional system of medicine as anti-hyperglycemic, hypoglycemic, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcerogenic agent. Results indicated that n-butanol and water fractions showed strong inhibition activity against the mutagens (NPD, Sodium azide) in both co-incubation as well as pre-incubation treatments in TA98 and TA100 tester strains. ? 2017, Informatics Publishing Limited. The current study evaluated the antimutagenic pottential of methanolic (RME) and aqueous methanolic extract (RAE) extracted from A. racemosus. Ames assay was used to acess the antimutagenic potential of RME and RAE (2.5x103, 1.0x103, 0.5x103, 0.25x103, 0.10x103 and 0.01x103 ?g 0.1 mL plate-1) that was added with mutagenic activation of TA98 and TA100 strain of Salmonella typhimurium. A. racemosus extract RME and RAE have been found to have effective in the inhibition of mutation induced by NPD and sodium azide. Among the two extracts, RAE showed maximum inhibition of 49.2% followed by RME having inhibition of 40.63% in Co-incubation mode. Current study indicated that A. racemosus can be used as a new source of anti-mutagenic. ? 2013 Academic Journals Inc.
