dc.description.abstract	The study undertaken attempts an analysis of the conflict between tradition and modernity as depicted in O. Chandumenon's Indulekha and Lalithambika Antharjanam's Agnisakshi. Both the texts make a clear demarcation of tradition and modernity, through the characters of different generations and the transition in the belief system and perceptions of the respective generations on various events and occurrences.
