Item An analysis of Indian Research Information Network System (IRINS)(University of Idaho Library, 2019) Jeyapragash, B; Muthuraj, A; Kannan, P.Indian Research Information Network System (IRINS) developed by the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda in collaboration with Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) which can be used for higher education institution and research institutions to showcase the research contribution to the scholarly community. The data were taken from Indian Research Information Network System (http://irins.org/irins/) of 15 instances for the Academic and Research Organisations. The objectives of the article is to analyze the faculty members, department and their scholarly publications with citations and its impact. It is found that KL University, Guntur has highest 836 (17.22%) faculty member. The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has received 278374 (26.28%) highest citations from Scopus and 227686 (22.30%) citations from Cross Ref.Item Library and information science courses in India: Issues and suggestions(University of Idaho Library, 2019) Brar, K.S; Singh, Bhupinder; Kaur, A.Library and information science courses are professional and job oriented. Due to this, these courses are much popular in India and neighbored developing countries. This paper discussed the various library and information science courses offered by different institutes in India. The paper also highlighted some core issues related to library and information science education with some vital suggestion. The paper is comprehensive sketch of library and information science education in India.Item Use of E-journals by library and information science researchers of India: An empirical analysis(University of Idaho Library, 2019) Brar, K.S; Singh, Bhupinder; Kaur, A.Purpose- The purpose of the paper is to find out the level of awareness and use of e-journal by the researchers pursuing Ph.D in library and information science. Design/Methodology/Approach - The data is collected through a wellstructured questionnaire from the research scholars of library and information science. Findings- the study reveals that all the researchers of library and information science are aware about the availability of e-journals. The on screen reading is preferred by majority of researchers and the HTML is the preferred format. But the less number of researchers prefer or published their research paper in e-journals. Research limitation/implications - the present paper consists only of ejournals users of library and information science subject and scope is restricted to research scholars only. The scope of the study can be extended to other subjects and undergraduate, post graduate students and faculty of the universities. Originality/Value - there are many studies on the use of e-journals, but this is the first of its kind based on the library and information science researchers. © 2019 Library Philosophy and Practice.Item Usage pattern of online services among the villagers of Jharkhand: A study of Pragya Kendra(Eureka Journa, 2018) Singh, Paramveer; Kumari, PriyankaThis paper is based on survey on rural population of Jharkhand state. This paper tried to find out the usage pattern of online services among the villagers of Jharkhand. State government is running several online service centres ‘Pragya Kendra’ in Jharkhand. How a villagers use this service for their betterment? And whether they are satisfied with this service or not, are main objectives of this study. Study reveals that villagers are using this service for various purposes and they are satisfied with services provided by the government.
